Emma has something important to tell her boyfriend, but when she arrives to meet him at the local diner and he's missing, she has a gut feeling that something is wrong.

A down-and-out scriptwriter spends his days and nights in the bars of Tokyo. When he is thrown out of a joint because it is closing time, there is always a willing lady to spend the rest of the night with. In the street he has countless semi-philosophical discussions with fellow drinkers, male and female, (shot in black-and-white, as prologue to the different chapters) but in the end it often comes down to one thing: the bottle of whisky that has to be finished. An encounter with a homeless young man with AIDS marks a turning point in the life of the writer.

Working in the service industry we all look forward to the same time; closing. See what nightlife is like after the lights go out. Ty, Drew, Chaz and the rest of the crew work the restaurant scene in Atlanta Georgia. They deal with customers and the “normal“ things at the shop, but the real dish is what takes place at home and on the personal level.

There are two sides to every story. Grieving the loss of the family shop with their dreams destroyed, Denise and daughter-in-law Carly are left to pick up the pieces of their relatives’ mistakes.

The communist and resistance fighter Lorenz Reger, who after the war put all his efforts in the creation of a socialist German state, learns that he has only a short time left to live. Nevertheless, he wants to take on one last difficult new task: He wants to restructure a large firm which has run deep into the red numbers. In a short amount of time, Reger manages to establish mutual trust between the employees and the new management. Furthermore, he motivates the employees with his personal interest for their concerns.

Debora and Silver get into a serious car accident after a romantic night together. Silver escapes with a slight injury, but Debora's life is in danger and the doctors say there is no hope for her. Doctor Melts sees an opportunity in transplantation of dying Debora's kidneys to save the life of a professor who has a few weeks to live. However, the professor proposes a treatment for Debora that will exclude transplantation. The truth about the price of her life will change Debora's world.

This is a story about natural coincidence, the battle against time and overcoming the self for the sake of common good. In this black comedy everyone will recognise themselves.
